STUDIO POLICIES

TUITION AGREEMENT

Our program is a full academic year program. We offer a full refund (less the $55.00 annual registration fee), up to 2 weeks into the year, if you or your dancer decides our program is not for you!

By registering your dancer for the 2026/27 season, you agree to the payment of a non-refundable  $55.00 per student. You also understand that full tuition is due at the time of registration.

We offer both sibling and multiple-class discounts.

By registering, one also understands that The Dance Pointe is unable to furnish refunds/credits in the event we need to return to distance learning. The Dance Pointe will provide full instruction via Zoom if necessary.

No refunds will be given if distance learning becomes a necessity.

WEATHER CANCELLATIONS

We do NOT necessarily follow district cancellations and weather-related decisions. A minimum of 1 snow/weather event day has been built into each day of the week, so no make-up classes due to weather cancellations are offered.

We will communicate any weather-related cancellations with you in a timely fashion via the following methods:

  1. Studio-wide email

  2. Studio-wide text message

ABSCENCES

Dance is an athletic art where presence is necessary. Work done in class can rarely be "made up" so we need all dancers to attend their classes every week.

Multiple unexcused absences may result in the inability of a dancer to perform. We appreciate your dedication to our craft.

"DANCER ONLY ZONE"

Sometimes, the first week or two of an activity, especially if it is new, can be daunting and confusing for young children. Our staff is well aware of this and go out of their way to comfort any dancer who needs an extra few minutes to acclimate. Our studios are “dancer-only zones” in order to create a healthy and trusting bond between dancer and instructor.

If a dancer clearly needs to be soothed by a parent, we ask that we do this in the hallway outside of the dance studio. This ensures that the other dancers in the studio can continue to focus on their class as well as the teacher.

If you have any concerns or questions, please come to the office or speak with an instructor come the end of class.

We greatly appreciate your understanding and support as we look forward to a wonderful dance season.

SPRING PERFORMANCE

Our annual Spring Performance is held in May. A costume fee of $TBD is required to participate. Tickets for the performance are at the cost of participating families and are sold through the theatre venue.

All dancers are also expected to attend dress rehearsals and are to be picked up AFTER the final curtain call of the show, NOT during. This is to ensure the safety of all involved.

Dance Studio Etiquette Expectations

Welcome to our THE DANCE POINTE! To ensure a positive, respectful, and productive environment for everyone, we ask all students and parents to follow these etiquette guidelines:

FOR STUDENTS:

  1. Punctuality: Arrive at the studio at least 10 minutes before your class begins. This allows you time to prepare and ensures classes start on time.

  2. Dress Code: Adhere to the studio’s dress code for each class. This includes appropriate dancewear, shoes, and grooming. Hair should be neatly tied back.

  3. Respect: Show respect to instructors, classmates, and studio staff. Listen attentively, follow instructions, and refrain from disruptive behavior.

  4. Studio Cleanliness: Keep the studio clean. Dispose of trash properly, and clean up any personal items or spills. Leave the space as you found it.

  5. No Food or Drink: Only water is allowed in the studio. Please eat snacks and meals in designated areas outside of the dance spaces.

  6. Silence Devices: Ensure all mobile devices are silenced or turned off during class to avoid disruptions.

  7. Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive and supportive attitude. Encourage your peers, be open to constructive feedback, and strive for personal growth.

  8. Personal Belongings: Keep personal belongings in designated areas. The studio is not responsible for lost or stolen items, so please leave valuables at home.

  9. Attendance: Consistent attendance is important for your progress and the cohesiveness of the class. If you must miss a class, inform your instructor in advance.

  10. Health and Safety: Prioritize your health and safety. Inform your instructor of any injuries or health concerns, and always warm up properly before dancing.

FOR PARENTS:

  1. Support and Encouragement: Encourage your child to attend classes regularly and be supportive of their efforts and progress.

  2. Timely Drop-off and Pick-up: Ensure your child arrives on time for class and is picked up promptly afterward. Please wait in designated areas during class time.

  3. Studio Environment: Respect the studio environment by keeping waiting areas clean and quiet. Younger siblings should be supervised at all times.

  4. Communication: Stay informed about studio updates, schedules, and events. Address any concerns or questions with studio staff or instructors respectfully and privately.

  5. Respect Class Time: Refrain from entering the dance studio during classes unless invited by the instructor. This helps maintain focus and minimizes distractions.

  6. Photo and Video Policy: Follow the studio’s policy on photography and videography. Do not record classes or performances without permission.

By following these etiquette expectations, we can create a harmonious and inspiring atmosphere for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to making our studio a wonderful place to dance.

Let’s have an amazing dance year together!
