Competition Team Requirements
The Dance Pointe Competition Team is designed for dedicated dancers who are passionate about training, performance, and teamwork. Placement is determined by audition and dancers will be assigned to one of the following levels:
Novice | Intermediate | Elite
Training Requirements
Competition team members are expected to maintain consistent weekly training.
Minimum of 2 technique classes per week at TDP
Friday and/or Saturday rehearsals (September–December)
One weekday rehearsal (September–April – schedule determined after team placement)
Competition Commitment
Team members will represent The Dance Pointe at three regional competitions during the season.
Competition Season: January – March
Attendance at all scheduled competitions is required.
Rehearsals & Choreography
Competition choreography is developed through scheduled rehearsals and specialty sessions.
Full commitment to all rehearsals and choreography sessions is required.
Due to the collaborative nature of team choreography, exceptions cannot be made for missed rehearsals.
Pre-Season
Pre Season Rehearsals will start in late August. Intermediate and Elite dancers are required to attend.
Solos, Duets & Trios
Solo, duet, and trio opportunities are by invitation only and based on readiness, work ethic, and teacher recommendations.

Who Can Audition:
Dancers must have at least two years of experience in the style(s) they are auditioning for, either in the current or immediately prior season.Format:
Auditions will be held in a class-style format—no need to prepare choreography in advance.What to Wear:
Tight-fitting athletic wear (e.g., sports bra and leggings)
For Hip Hop, layering is allowed
Bring appropriate shoes for each style you’re auditioning for
